Cowering under a parked pick-up truck, slinking through weeds at the side of the road, or staring out of cinderblock cages …. They’re everywhere and yet invisible. In America there are millions of them: homeless, lost or abandoned dogs and cats.
How is it in our modern society where billions of dollars are spent each year on such things as doggie daycare, pet strollers, neon claw polish, organic pet food, and designer collars that there is such an appalling flip side to the same coin?
The Humane Society of the United States estimates that over a million dogs and cats will be “euthanized” this year in animal control facilities across the United States. Why are we still allowing pet stores to sell puppies and kittens, when the county is spending millions of dollars to kill puppies and kittens? Why are dog and cat breeders filling their backyard kennels with litter after litter, when EVERY breed of dog or cat is already available at an animal shelter or rescue group nearby and desperate for a home? Clearly, a realignment of priorities is needed.

It costs $3,000 per day to operate Hope for Animals. That amount covers:
• Supplying local Animal Shelters with much needed Dog and Cat Food
• Supplies cat food to dozens of individual volunteers who feed large colonies of feral cats
• Pays for TNR- Trap Neuter & Return Services (to control population)
• Funds for Emergency Vet Services for cats and dogs in critical condition
• Animal Transport Fees to help move animals from one shelter to another to aid in adoptions.
Hope for Animals Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of animals while empowering the next generation of advocates. We are committed to providing essential resources free of charge, including food for dogs, cats, and wildlife to support shelters and feeders, financial assistance for urgent veterinary care for injured animals, and support for TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) programs to address overpopulation challenges. Additionally, we offer resources to individual volunteers caring for large colonies of feral cats, helping them continue their vital work in the community.
Our mission extends beyond immediate care to include fostering long-term change through education. We are devoted to inspiring and equipping youth with the knowledge and tools to become compassionate leaders. Through tailored programs, we instill values of empathy, leadership, and a deep understanding of animal welfare and wildlife conservation, nurturing a future generation that values and protects all living beings.
Together, we can build a compassionate future for animals and people alike. Your support allows us to continue saving lives, reducing suffering, and creating a kinder world. Join us in our mission to make a lasting impact for animals in need and the communities that care for them.
